The Guru's Gift: A Kundalini Awakening by Ruth Angela
English | December 14, 2013 | ISBN: 0984660410 | EPUB | 264 pages | 0.7 MB
When a dramatic Kundalini awakening occurred in 1979 from the influence and guidance of a great guru, this Yuppie housewife's life was thrown into a whirling spiral of mysticism and magic. Using the guru's mantra and practices, Ruth, entered a world of wonder and bliss. Spinning off the ground, reading others' thoughts, reading languages never learned, and dancing ecstatically were daily delights that eventually devolved into a heroes' journey of cleansing the subconscious of its hidden dragons. As the cleansing process scoured her psyche, nights without sleep, days spent in a living dream, and great winds of depression brought out revengeful ghosts, sucking all the life from the soul. She was on the classical hero's journey towards self-realization, described by Joseph Campbell in "The Hero with a Thousand Faces." It had begun in bliss and then became a living nightmare.
In 1979 no one in my culture knew anything about such "crazy" behavior. No one understood this lonely, confusing process where boundaries of time, awareness and self cease to exist. Finally this journey culminated in a climactic but classic ego death spiral.
After visiting the guru in person, receiving his invaluable assistance, the ghouls and merging realities stabilized and Ruth was once again, the reliable, sensible, sane wife, mother and graduate student.
In 1993, still puzzled and embarrassed by the trauma caused to her family, Ruth began researching Kundalini, and 20 years' later has been able to explain logically what took place in those intense 18 months. Her wide-ranging research has lead to this comprehensive explanation of some of the most wonderful and miraculous attributes of being born a human. The book will bring comfort to those going through this phenomena (or their families and caretakers) that can lead to their integration and emergence. For the truth is, Kundalini awakening is an enormous benediction. It is in fact as natural as puberty or menopause; it is human evolution, and as such should not to be suppressed or shamed but lauded and praised.
It is our Mother of All (Kundalini) coming back to claim Her lost child, for She is the cosmic ONE within.

The Comet Sweeper (Icon Science): Caroline Herschel's Astronomical Ambition by Claire Brock
English | January 5th, 2017 | ASIN: B01MRHFQOK, ISBN: 1840467207, 1785781669 | 304 Pages | EPUB | 2.51 MB
Having escaped domestic servitude in Germany by teaching herself to sing, and established a career in England, Caroline Herschel learned astronomy while helping her brother William, then Astronomer Royal.
Soon making scientific discoveries in her own right, she swept to international scientific and popular fame. She was awarded a salary by George III in 1787 – the first woman in Britain to make her living from science.
But, as a woman in a male-dominated world, Herschel's great success was achieved despite constant frustration of her ambitions. Drawing on original sources – including Herschel's diaries and her fiery letters – Claire Brock tells the story of a woman determined to win independence and satisfy her astronomical ambition.

The Five of Hearts: An Intimate Portrait of Henry Adams and His Friends, 1880-1918 by Patricia O'Toole
English | March 10, 2006 | ISBN: 0743288238 | EPUB | 459 pages | 1.6 MB
The Five of Hearts, who first gathered in Washington in the Gilded Age, included Henry Adams, historian and scion of America's first political dynasty; his wife, Clover, gifted photographer and tragic victim of depression; John Hay, ambassador and secretary of state; his wife, Clara, a Midwestern heiress; and Clarence King, pioneering geologist, entrepreneur, and man of mystery. They knew every president from Abraham Lincoln to Theodore Roosevelt and befriended Henry James, Mark Twain, Edith Wharton, and a host of other illustrious figures on both sides of the Atlantic.

Relentless: A Memoir by Julian Edelman, Tom E. Curran
English | October 24, 2017 | ISBN: 0316479853 | EPUB | 272 pages | 18.2 MB
Bill Belichick: "Julian is the epitome of competitiveness, toughness, and the great things that are possible when someone is determined to achieve their goals."
Tom Brady: "It's a privilege for me to play with someone as special as Julian."
The Super Bowl champion wide receiver for the New England Patriots shares his inspiring story of an underdog kid who was always doubted to becoming one of the most reliable and inspiring players in the NFL.
When the Patriots were down 28-3 in Super Bowl LI, there was at least one player who refused to believe they would lose: Julian Edelman. And he said so. It wasn't only because of his belief in his teammates, led by the master of the comeback, his friend and quarterback Tom Brady-or the coaching staff run by the legendary Bill Belichick. It was also because he had been counted out in most of his life and career, and he had proved them all wrong.
Whether it was in Pop Warner football, where his Redwood City, California, team won a national championship; in high school where he went from a 4'10", 95-pound freshman running back to quarterback for an undefeated Woodside High team; or college, where he rewrote records at Kent State as a dual-threat quarterback, Edelman far exceeded everyone's expectations. Everyone's expectations, that is, except his own and those of his father, who took extreme and unorthodox measures to drive Edelman to quiet the doubters with ferocious competitiveness.
